HIMSS-NCA September Educational Program: Strategies for Leveraging Internet of Things (IOT) with Social Media in Health IT

WHEN: September 17, 2015, 5:30-8:00PM
WHERE: Key Bridge Marriott, Arlington, VA

“Things do not change; we change.” – Henry David Thoreau. Convergence and emergence are constant themes of change in the IT sector. We will explore how emergent Internet of Things (IOT) technology can be converged with mature SAE International (SAE) standards and Social Media technologies to provide fresh approaches and insights into enterprise interface techniques in the healthcare sector…

G2X TAKE: HIMSS-NCA kicks off the fall season with a topic that is certain to be a draw. Kathy Frisbee, Co-Director of the Connected Health group at Veterans Health Administration (VHA); Jon Booth, the Director, Web and New Media Group, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS); and Dick Stapleton, Deputy Director, Digital Communications Division, Health and Human Services (HHS) are among the invited speakers who will discuss social media and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, and their integration into major information systems in healthcare. Irrespective of the content, when it comes to networking with a good cross section of Federal Health IT colleagues from government and industry, this group continues to hold some of the more well attended and run events in the DC area. Well worth the price of admission.
