Six upcoming Fed Health IT events you won’t want to miss

Included here is a list of a few can’t miss events that you will want to plan on attending in the next few weeks as we enter Spring.

Personal Health and Personalized Medicine

WHEN: Tomorrow, February 18, 2016, 5:30PM-8:00PM
WHERE: Key Bridge Marriott, 1401 Lee Highway, Arlington, VA

G2X TAKE: With confirmed speakers that include the VA lead for Genomic Medicine and the Biomedical Laboratory, the Associate Chief of the Bio-Medical Service Corps for the Air Force Medical Support Agency, and other leaders from NIH, HHS and FDA, the February meeting for HIMSS NCA will be very attractive to those firms who are focused on the research side of the house. Regardless of the topic, HIMSS NCA remains the top event in town for networking with Federal Health IT leaders.

Positioning for Alliant 2 and the Health IT (HIT) SIN

WHERE: Arlington, VA

G2X TAKE: Are you planning to prime Alliant 2 or Alliant 2 SB? Looking to add teaming partners or get on a team? If you would like to reserve a table to show off your company at next Tuesday’s event focused on this increasingly relevant Health IT vehicle, let us know at [email protected]. HIMSS 2016 with DHA, VA, CMS and HHS

WHEN: February 29 – March 4, 2016
WHERE: Sands Expo, Las Vegas, NV

G2X TAKE: Firms planning to attend HIMSS have their bags packed already. Notable sessions include DoD/VA Interoperability and JLV; MHS IT Transformation; improving workflow at CMS and the ever popular Fed Health IT Business Development workshop led by Peggy McShane and Kathy Minchew. Attending HIMSS event is a commitment, but, as is the case with any out-of-town event, the networking remains invaluable and the Vegas location and weather will not hurt.

Healthcare Data Interoperability Event with DHA Director

WHEN: Tuesday, March 8, 2016, 7:00AM-9:45AM
WHERE: 2941 Restaurant, 2941 Fairview Park Dr, Falls Church, VA

G2X TAKE: With RADM Raquel Bono, the Director of the Defense Health Agency confirmed to speak , this event is worth checking out and potentially putting on the calendar. These intimate events are relatively expensive, but the topic and the speaker ensure that this should be a full house.

And a couple to plan for, but act on now…

AFCEA Children’s Gala “A Night for the Children”

WHEN: April 9, 2016
WHERE: Marriott Wardman Park, Washington DC

G2X TAKE: For 17 years, AFCEA Bethesda has been supporting charitable giving and has raised more than $6 million for charities benefiting the health, welfare, and education of children. The Children’s Gala remains one most well attended and supported events of the season, drawing in dozens of Federal Health IT executives. Tables fill up quickly and sponsorship opportunities will go fast.

VA Healthcare 2016

WHEN: Monday, May 16-Wednesday, May 18, 2016
WHERE: Washington D.C.

G2X TAKE: If VA is a focus for your organization, this conference is one you won’t want to miss. While still a few months away, now is the time to register as the Early Bird registration ends next week – a saving of $700 or more. With early confirmed speakers that include the Deputy CIO, the Under Secretary for Health and many others, this event always seems to draw in a varied set of speakers from across VA that you don’t get to see or hear from often.
