It has been a busy start to the Spring and with all of the proposal activity, it is hard to keep up sometimes. To help, included here is a list of some of the top upcoming Federal Health IT events that you will want to be aware of.
WHEN: April 9, 2016
WHERE: Marriott Wardman Park, Washington DC
G2X TAKE: For 17 years, AFCEA Bethesda has been supporting charitable giving and has raised more than $6 million for charities benefiting the health, welfare, and education of children. The Children’s Gala remains one most well attended and supported events of the season, drawing in dozens of Federal Health IT executives. Tables fill up quickly and sponsorship opportunities will go fast.
WHERE: Key Bridge Marriott, 1401 Lee Highway, Arlington, VA
The U.S. health system is evolving from one that is focused on treating illness and injury, to one focused on improving overall population health and managing chronic conditions. In the past, health care providers were paid based on the volume of individual services they delivered; a system referred to as fee-for-service. Moving forward, they will see more of their reimbursements tied to bundled payments, quality measures and patient satisfaction, along with incentives for reducing the total cost of care; a system referred to as fee-for-value…
G2X TAKE: With a panel led by Optum Senior VP for Federal Business Strategy and Development (part of United Healthcare), it should be no surprise that this event will focus on having Fed Health IT executives from VA, CMS and DHA discuss the rapidly changing U.S. health system and its continued evolution from one focused on treating illness and injury, to one focused on improving overall population health.
The speakers are still listed as invited, so keep an eye out as the names are likely to change in the coming weeks. Regardless, HIMSS NCA remains a must attend event for those individuals interested in networking with executives from across the broader Federal Health IT community.
WHEN: May 2-3, 2016
WHERE: The Mary M. Gates Learning Center/ United Way, Alexandria, VA
G2X TAKE: With a slew of high level confirmed speakers already in place from across DHA and VA programs such as DHMSM, the DoD/VA IPO and the VA Product Management group, it is not surprise that this summit typically reaches full capacity quickly. Early registration ends April 1 (a savings of $75), so don’t delay too long if this is an event you are planning to attend. The summit customarily draws a who’s who of leading execs from across the Fed Health IT market, and the networking is almost as valuable as the content.
