Washington, D.C. (May 2, 2016) – FedHealthIT, a print and digital magazine dedicated to providing news and insights regarding the federal health technology industry, is honoring the companies, agencies, and programs providing innovations in the healthcare technology industry; challenging the misconception that government agencies are “out dated”.

The Federal Health IT community includes some of the most innovative and entrepreneurial companies and individuals you will find anywhere in the world. Once a year we come together to celebrate the efforts of these Federal programs, projects, and teams that are making a real difference.” – David Blackburn, Executive Editor and Founder, FedHealth IT

During the event additional awards will be handed out for the G2Xchange Federal Health IT Challenge, including a new Chevy Volt. The Challenge was created by G2Xchange Health and Visual Connections, LLC to encourage small companies, start-ups, and university participants to develop new technologies and approaches that support improved healthcare. More than 20 of the finalists will be in attendance with their prototypes on display.

Visual Connections’ sandbox environment is built from industry-leading hardware and equipment to ensure the highest level of performance, reliability, and interoperability for our innovation challenge participants,” Fred Deese said.  The sandbox, he explained, was established to provide a FEDRAMP certified test bed.
