Industry Expert to Lead Veterans Affairs Solutions
SteerBridge announced today that Elena Joa has been named the company’s Customer Solutions Director. Elena is a steadfast, solution-driven advocate and VA subject matter expert who keeps Veterans and their families at the forefront of every solution. She is a Marine Veteran and is passionate about serving fellow Veterans and their families.

Elena began her career with the Department of Veterans Affairs in 2011 as a Senior Veterans Service Representative and Rating Specialist developing and adjudicating disability compensation claims and appeals. In 2016, she joined the Office of Congressional and Legislative Affairs as a Congressional Liaison Representative where she advised Members of Congress of their constituents’ Veterans benefits and provided assistance and guidance in addressing issues related to those benefits. Elena was then promoted to Congressional Relations Officer in 2018 where she helped foster relationships between Congress and senior VA leaders. She managed a diverse portfolio that encompassed many of VBA’s Program Offices and such sensitive issues as Toxic Exposures and Military Sexual Trauma, and prepared VA leaders for Congressional engagements, including testifying at Committee hearings. In 2020, she broadened her scope of responsibility by leading both the Congressional and Legislative Teams for VBA’s Office of Executive Review.
